Pancreas is a key organ in metabolic activities including insulin signaling and lipid homeostasis. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), derived from exocrine part of the pancreas, is a devastating disease that ranks the fourth place in cancer mortality. Type 2 diabetes and obesity are determined risk factors that contribute to PDAC onset. INSIG1 is a well-identified gene involved in the onset of diabetes and obesity. Therefore, we aimed to identify variants of this gene in PANC-1 cell line to serve for future in vitro modeling studies of PDAC and metabolic disorders. In this respect, PANC-1 cells were subcultured followed by DNA isolation. All exons, exon-intron boundaries and untranslated regions of INSIG1 were PCR amplified, followed by Sanger sequencing that revealed 5 heterozygous variants from non-coding regions. Among these variants, 2 were novel (NM_005542.5:c.805-16delT and NM_005542.5:c.*2035G>A) and the remaining (NM_005542.5:c.-353T>C; NM_005542.5:c.804+37G>T; NM_005542.5:c.*2010G>T) were reported as common single nucleotide variations in conventional genetic databases. Our findings serve crucial information for future research of PANC-1 use in in vitro modeling, since recent research implicate the role of intronic and intergenic variants in the regulation of alternative splicing, gene expression and drug responses.

Background/Aims: Hepatitis C is not only a disease of the liver, but may also occur with many other diseases. Extrahepatic organ and tissues may be involved through different immunologic mechanisms. \nMethods: Totally 99 patients with Hepatitis C positive for anti-HCV by ELISA and for HCV-RNA by RT-PCR, were enrolled into the study. Anti-nuclear antibody (ANA), anti-smooth muscle antibody (ASMA), anti-mitochondrial antibody, liver-kidney microsomal antibody-1 (LKM-1), anti-double stranded DNA, anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA), anti-endomysial antibody, anti-reticulin antibody were studied by indirect immunofluorescence, soluble liver antigen , anti-liver cytosolic antigen type 1, anti-mitochondrial antibody of M2 and anti-extractable nuclear antigens including Sm, RNP/Sm, Scl-70, SS-A, SS-B, Jo-1 were investigated by immunoblotting.\nResults: Nineteen chronic Hepatitis C patients were positive for ANCA (33%), 13 for ENA (23%), 14 for ASMA (24.5%), 6 for GPCA (10.5%), 3 for ANA, one each for AMA and LKM-1. GPCA, ASMA, ANA were more frequently in females, but ANCA and double antibody positivities were similar in both genders. No difference was found in autoantibody positivity related to age and genotype in groups.\nConclusion: Antibody positivity was high in Hepatitis C, this finding was not considered as a presence of autoimmune disease, but interpreted simply as serum antibody positivities.
An inventory of hallucinogenic mushrooms from Morocco has been developed on\nbibliographic bases. The analysis of all the work on this mycological flora shows that it\ncurrently contains about twenty-five species belonging to the order of the Agaricales and six\ndifferent families: Amanitaceae, Bolbitiaceae, Incertae sedis, Inocybaceae, Pluteaceae and\nStrophariaceae and to nine generea (Amanita, Conocybe, Panaeolus, Inocybe, Gymnopilus,\nPluteus, Deconica, Geophila and Psilocybe). All species were ranked according to the main\nradicals of the mycological classification
The physical , and structural properties of CR-39 detector polymer irradiated by using alpha particles from Pu-239 source were studied by FTIR spectroscopy and chemical etching process. Samples of CR-39 detectors were irradiated with alpha particles at different energies (2.42, 3.05, 3.62 ,4.2 and 4.65 MeV) successive by Pu-239 Source. The tracks shaped in CR-39 due to irradiations were appeared by using the etching technique. The physical parameters of solid state nuclear track detector CR-39 like, track etching rate, bulk etch rate, and detector sensitivity were investigated in this work, and the dependence of those physical parameters of CR-39 polymer detector on the alpha-particle energy were illustrated. The track density are growing with increasing of both alpha energy and fleunces. One of the important results obtained in this work is the gradual linear decrease of both the detector sensitivity and the alpha track diameter with increased alpha particle energy, which indicates that the CR-39 polymer detector can be used as an alpha-particle spectrometer. The FTIR spectrum reveals that there is an increase in the intensity of the characteristic peaks with increasing the irradiation fleunces.
Energy production and consumption exert considerable environmental pressures, including contributions to climate change, deterioration of natural ecosystems and adverse health impacts. Our paper / scientific approach is starting from the premise that in the near future the Romanian Electricity Market will be completely liberalized in order to be integrated in the Single Market Electricity. These profound changes will have a strong impact on household behaviour. In this regard, we develop a dynamic model for the electricity market, based on the principle of supply and demand equilibrium in which it is presented the reaction that the electricity price p produces on the amount-consumed q. Also, by means of extrapolation methods we are deducing the expressions of demand and supply functions for electricity. These expressions are entered in a demand-supply model given by a dynamical system. We study the equilibrium and the evolution of this system based on data sets from 1999 to 2016 in order to determine the electricity consumption evolution and to establish competitive advantages for a sustainable consumption.
The study is to investigate specifically the impacts of Big Five personality traits on job satisfaction. A theoretical model concerning the connections between ?ve facets of personality (i.e. openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and emotional stability) and job satisfaction are anticipated. It is then empirically tested with a multiple regression analysis of a survey data set of 397 observations, collected from the employees of Malaysian Islamic banking institutions. The result shows that the dimension of conscientiousness is the only significant predictor to job satisfaction. The management should give priority to the influences that foster overall job satisfaction in terms of resource provision. The management is recommended to hire and retain employees with high conscientiousness since such a trait produces job satisfaction in light of conventional and Islamic perceptions. Intermingled between conventional and Islamic motivating ideas, the society is urged to understand the idea of holistic happiness at the working surroundings. This is the first study examining the relationship between personality and job satisfaction by using the unique hybrid of Maslow’s Hierarchical Needs of Theory and Maqasid al Sharia.
